From a very young age Rosa was fascinated to see her mother taking measurements, cutting the pieces of fabric and sewing them to make a dress. It was like watching a magic trick.
As soon as she had the age for that, she enrolled in a dressmaking school while helping her parents in the family business selling binding materials.
A few years passed and the idea of creating her own fashion business was spinning in her head. She married and after giving birth the second baby decided that it was time to create her own company and make her dream come true.
Finally, in 1993 QBDFASHION came to life by beginning to sell all kinds of trimmings.
Four (extremely difficult) years passed until things settled up. One day, Rosa had the idea of dyeing a bunch of feathers by herself because a customer had ordered a color that the supplier couldn’t ship on time. She called a friend of her that had some knowledge on dyes to get some directions of how to do that, and after a couple of days spent in the office, now-a-lab, kitchen and she achieved a more than acceptable color shade, very close to the one desired by the customer:
She didn't know that yet but that was the first in-house manufactured order!
Then she tried with more and more feathers, and some seasons later she was dyeing any type of feather in the color requested by a customer.
At that point, she realized that is she wanted to she had to offer her customers a top level and a 360º customizable product and to reach that goal the whole manufacturing processes and quality controls had to take place totally in-house. It was then when she focused all her efforts on that and even though that took a while, quite a few money, an ocean of tears, a ton of disappointments and a 1000 nights without sleep thanks to that and to a fantastic team of craftswomen with amazing skills, today in our factory-workshop we can say that QBDFASHION IS PROUD TO BE DIFFERENT.

At QBDFASHION we want to evolve towards a responsible and sustainable production model. We dream of changing the world and strive daily to achieve it (little by little).
We try to improve things every day with the idea of becoming the world leader in the artisanal manufacture of high fashion ornaments through the recycling of natural feathers, the production of top quality items, through the use of materials biodegradable with low environmental impact, and applying traditional techniques which generate a positive impact on society and the planet.

All the prodcucts used to manufacture all our styles are eco-friendly and meet all the environment requirements to reduce as much as possible our impact on it.
95% of production processes are entirely made by hand in our workshop.
Design, manufacturing & quality control are totally Made in Barcelona.
These are the results of melting a noble product of natural origin such as feathers with some passion
Feathers are a product discarded by the alimentary chain.
We take care of cleaning, sterilizing and selecting each of them to later produce the specific design for each client.
In the case of ostrich feathers, we only use the feathers that are shed semi-annually by mature specimens and that we obtain in certified farms where the birds are raised and treated in an ethical and respectful way.
At no time are birds slaughtered or subjected to a painful process to obtain their feathers.
We transform a discarded product into a high-end garment ornament.
Our products can be imported and exported worldwide because they are always accompanied by legal and official documents and certificates in which we specify compliance with all veterinary requirements required in most countries for the trade of feathers.
